JAKARTA (indotelko) – Qualcomm Technologies, Inc highlighted the leading role its Qualcomm Gobi wireless modems play in delivering fast, reliable and seamless 3G and 4G/LTE connectivity to mobile computing devices built on and designed for Windows 8 and Windows RT.
Compatible with the USB-IF Mobile Broadband Interface Model (MBIM), which allows for easy integration by PC OEMs, Qualcomm Gobi embedded solutions enable fast connectivity, improved power efficiency and smaller designs – and can be found in a host of Windows 8/RT-based computing products from Dell, Lenovo and Samsung, and in embedded wireless modules from Huawei, Option, Sierra Wireless and ZTE.
Additionally, Qualcomm Gobi solutions support flexible, prepaid data plans for global 3G and 4G/LTE connectivity for an always-on, always-connected experience.
“Qualcomm Gobi modems have set the standard for mobile broadband connectivity across a wide range of devices and continue to drive solutions for emerging mobile trends such as thin, ultra-portable computing devices and new pay-as-you-go data options,” said Fram Akiki, senior director of product management at QTI.
Qualcomm Gobi modems, products of QTI, are the industry’s premier embedded wireless solutions and have been implemented in hundreds of laptops, tablets and other portable computing devices since 2008.
Qualcomm Gobi’s first-generation 4G/LTE chipset, the MDM9x00, delivered the world’s first integrated LTE/3G modem and has been shipping to customers for more than a year.
Embedded mobile computing OEMs are transitioning to Qualcomm Gobi’s second-generation 4G/LTE chipset, the MDM9x15, which enables lower power and smaller devices. Qualcomm Gobi’s third-generation LTE solution, the MDM9x25, is an LTE Advanced solution that supports LTE carrier aggregation and LTE Category 4 with peak data rates of up to 150 Mbps.(ss)
