FREMONT (IndoTelko) – The global Internet Intelligence company Procera Networks, Inc. announced that it has joined the CloudBand Ecosystem program created by Alcatel-Lucent to accelerate NFV deployments.

Procera will integrate it’s NFV solutions into the CloudBand NFV Platform for orchestration, automation, and optimization of virtual network functions across a service provider’s distributed network.

The initial use case will deliver solutions for fixed and mobile operators that leverage NFV to deliver highly targeted and personalized Parental Control.

“Alcatel is delivering market-ready solutions for deployment by network operators,” said Michael Kay, VP of Strategic Partnerships for Procera Networks. “We consider the CloudBand NFV Platform one of the premier orchestration and automation solutions available today, and have designed our NFV solutions for easy integration with NFV orchestration systems.”

“CloudBand is about delivering solutions to the NFV community,” said Valerie Noto, Director of Alcatel-Lucent’s CloudBand Ecosystem. ”Procera adds Internet Intelligence and Parental Control capabilities to the CloudBand ecosystem that enhance the solutions for operators building smarter networks using NFV and SDN.”

Alcatel-Lucent’s network functions virtualization (NFV) portfolio combines its networking technical acumen with its cloud capabilities to help guide customers through the complex virtualization journey without compromising operational performance and integrity.

It is already working with 20 service providers as they begin to leverage NFV in their networks. NFV appeals to service providers now because it allows them to innovate more quickly and easily while providing the best return on their investments in an all-IP network infrastructure such as LTE.

It enables network automation and efficient use of resources for rapid scaling up and down of services. Procera’s solutions enable network operators to gain insights into their networks and subscribers and take action to deliver a more compelling broadband experience to their customers.

Nuage
Meanwhile, The Alcatel-Lucent venture focused on software defined networking (SDN) solutions, Nuage Networks, announced that its Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) Icehouse plug-in has been tested and included in the OpenStack community’s DriverLog.

This allows users to easily understand how VSP is compatible with OpenStack clouds running Icehouse.

Additionally, Nuage Networks is working with Red Hat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, to integrate with its upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5, based on the OpenStack Icehouse distribution.

This effort brings together industry-leading SDN and cloud enablement technologies with OpenStack Icehouse to continue the advancement of high performing public, private, and hybrid enterprise cloud environments worldwide.(es)
