JAKARTA (IndoTelko) - Malaysia's Telkom International (TELIN) has completed the integration of services Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) with Umobile network and prepares to accelerate the 2 in 1 AS sim cards sales.
"We have switched our network partner from Maxis to Umobile. We have started selling products using Umobile's network," said Telin Malaysia CEO Oki Wiranto when talking with IndoTelko, recently.
Oki said that the company is currently focusing on products distribution to dealers in their operating areas.
"We have about 21 thousand existing customers which should be migrated to this new product. We hope we would not lose our customers, we are now actively carrying outbound calls so that they are willing to migrate," he described.
Oki also said that after the product distribution to dealers, a ceremonial event would be held in the upcoming September.
"The new product with Umobile is more attractive, we do not just provide cheap calls to Indonesia, but more varied in voice and SMS. Also more competitive data services price. The previous product charge was RM30/750 MB/month for data package, but now the package is RM27/1GB/month. It used to be just a monthly data package, but now there is a daily/weekly/monthly subscription," Oki explained.
Previously, Telin Malaysia was introduced to the public in August 2013 and began to commercialize its MVNO service with the 2 in 1 AS Card in November 2013.
Telkom as the main company reportedly to have set up a US $ 10 million investment to support Telin Malaysia's business with its network provider partner Maxis.
Telin Malaysia is one storefront of Telkom international expansion program that implemented the 'follow the people' business strategies. Because Indonesian community presence in Malaysia is the largest overseas that is not less than 3 million of Indonesian live there.
