Inmarsat Appoints New SVP of Group Security

JAKARTA (IndoTelko) –  Inmarsat , the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services, announced that Gary Gagnon has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Group Security.

Mr Gagnon is an experienced senior cybersecurity professional and an industry expert in critical infrastructure protection with over 25 years of experience. He has pioneered investigative approaches into cyber threats and Internet vulnerabilities, developing strategies to protect both public and private organisations.

For the past thirty years Mr Gagnon has been at the MITRE Corporation where he held several positions focused on solving information security issues for a variety of Department of Defence organisations.

He was also the director of the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Centre (FFRDC) sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) – the first FFRDC solely dedicated to cybersecurity.

Mr Gagnon has both taken part in and led initiatives to bring together experts from industry, government and academia to demonstrate integrated cybersecurity solutions. As part of this work he investigated numerous technologies including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, computer forensics and virtual Private Networks.
