The headphones has 3.5-mm, gold-plated audio jack provides on-the-go power without needing to be charged or using batteries. Plus, it uses flat cables so the earbuds won’t turn into a tangled mess when you put them in your bag or pocket.

Bell explains that by partnering with SMS Audio, it’s doing more than just filling computers with chips, it’s taking active steps to diversify and get its technology into devices instead of letting them languish in a lab somewhere. It’s a partnership not born out of top executives in high powered meetings, but via lower level people who happened to meet at an event.

Bell says that everything is getting smart, and he estimates that the wearables market will hit 400 million units sold a year by 2020, and that is just the personalized part of the 50 billion unit market for Internet of Things devices by 2020.
