Shutting any Opportunity
As known that the BRTI was established by a Ministerial Decree No. 31/2003 regarding the determination of the Indonesian Telecommunications Regulatory Body (BRTI).
It contains representatives of government institutions usually MCIT expert, the Informatics Ministry's Director General of the Postal and Informatics Equipment and Resources (SDPPI) and Director General of Information Provider and Processing, as well as community representatives.
The selection committee was formed to accommodate the community representatives. However, the minimum age requirement to run for the candidacy for 2015-2018 periods has become a big question mark.
Responding the age minimum age requirement, the Ministry's spokesman Ismail Cawidu said that one of the BRTI's member tasks is associated with the regulation making which require people who truly have the attitude, perspective, mature thinking and considered to have qualified experience.
"The committee is expecting the Telecommunications Regulatory Committee (KRT) members are truly professional and not job seekers, which focus on regulatory affairs. We want the next Telecommunication Regulatory Body would be productive and mature in formulating policy," he said in a brief message on Tuesday (24/2).
