JAKARTA (IndoTelko) - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) is now ensuring the joint venture cooperation with Australian operator Telstra Corporation Limited to begin operating in the second week of May 2015.
"TelkomTelstra is ready to enter the national IT business sector on the second week of May. Currently Telstra's management is preparing for the kick off," Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer (CISO) Telkom Group Indra Utoyo, to IndoTelko, yesterday.
TelkomTelstra is a company to run the network and application service (NAS) or the cloud computing. Telkom decides to work with Telstra because considered to have sucessfully conduct the business transformation and its competency in the NAS business and its experience in providing IT systems in more than 800 companies throughout Australia.
"From Telstra line of management, we are absorbing the knowledge and concept in transforming the enterprise service that makes the cloud based end to end managed system easy and eficent for the costumers," Indra said.
According to Telstra's official website mention that Philip Sporton is the executive director, Agus F Abdillah is the company's Chief Costumer Service, Nathan Bell is the Chief Operation Officer, Sri Safitri is the Chief Marketing Officer, Ernest Vincent Hutagalung is the Chief Financial Officer and Mark Soffer is the Corporate Secretary.
Indra said that the existence of TelkomTelstra will not be a competitor for Telkom's subsidiary companies that also work in the IT business, namely Telkom Sigma.
TelkomTelstra is utilizing the data center and cloud infrastructure as service (iaas) from TelkomSigma, and the provided cloud is horizontal, similar to Unified Communication and Security.
"TelkomTelstra is focusing on the corporate market segment, TelkomTelstra is only making products and will be sold as a bundling package by Telkom's Enterprise and Business Serbice Director Muhammad Awaludin," Indra said.
Awaludin did not give his statement when the journalists confirm on the matter. "I will tell you layer after the launching, for a meantime, let the market be curious about it," Awaludin said.(es)
