One of the NGO, ICT Watch said the DNS technology, especially distributed topology anycast is more appropriate functionalized to improve the resilience, fast, safe and stable internet.
Although its existence is good, ICT Watch said that if the governance or the procedure is not transparent and accountable, can be used to censor information, like what happen in a number of countries.
Countries like China, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia and South Korea are using DNS to censor information that is opposite to the interests of political or the government.
Internet Service Providers also find the database that is in the Trust Positive is unfriendly to be synchronized because it is mixed between URLs and domains. Moreover, for content in social the media is still spreading.
However, the Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara is unmoved by the refusal. "I wish we had the ability to do the censorship like China, but not as tight as they are. I want the state is present and must be able to enter when needed," the minister said. (es)
