JAKARTA (IndoTelko) - Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Rudiantara said something about the convergence phenomenon in the national Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.
"Discussion on convergence is now more comprehensive than discussions in previous years as seen from the technological side. There are 17 important issues to be discussed that will be a topic at the Convergence Act," said Rudiantara.
According to Rudiantara, the industry must think about the business model ahead with the planned presence of Convergence Law from this moment, as well as bandwidth utilization, as well as the Non-Tax State Income revenue.
"The substance is not the main thing that must be addressed, but the Law of the convergence beforehand and it takes time. Government regulations should be revised to protect the public and investors," Rudiantara said.
Rudiantara said that there are aspects included in this convergence as part of the business, not only in the telecommunications or broadcasting industries, ultimately the business model may have implications for the country's economy.
"It is not easy to introduce convergence to stakeholders, we should know for sure what kind of approach is offered, what is fixed and how to address the problem," Rudiantara advised.
Rudiantara also added that besides the business aspects, regulatory aspects should be included as well as any position.
Rudiantara also expect a clear separation in terms of who the regulators and providers of policy, this is to prevent government who issued the policies and government also gave the permission."It would be great if it is changed. It is a homework for us all, which the goal should be changed slowly to restore the purpose of service to the community can be achieved, "he said.(es)
